A Place of Refuge Ministries is a network of volunteers who are committed to life and to caring for women facing crisis pregnancy in South Wisconsin.
Refuge House is truly “a place of refuge” where women and children who have no place to stay can reside as they prepare for the birth of their babies. Our live-in houseparent provides a loving and caring family atmosphere where moms can learn parenting and life-skills, further their education and acquire job skills. Most importantly, the mothers have the opportunity for regular Bible study, prayer and worship so they can grow in their walk with the Lord.
Their doors opened in 1893, and since then, the Milwaukee Rescue Mission has reached out with compassion for the poor, hungry and homeless of our community.
Each day, they provide food and shelter up to 400 men, women and children who might have nowhere else to turn without the Milwaukee Rescue Mission. In addition to meeting their immediate needs, they provide the training, support and guidance they need to rebuild their lives. Their efforts are only possible because of the support of good people like you.
